Dear University of Alaska Fairbanks students,
In a spirit of gratitude after a rewarding 30-year career at Â鶹Çø, I have decided to
retire from my position as Â鶹Çø chancellor. My last day will be July 26, 2025. In the
near term, I will retain my affiliation with Â鶹Çø through my faculty position in civil
engineering.
I am thankful to you, the students, for choosing Â鶹Çø. You have enriched our campuses
with your curiosity, tenacity and enthusiasm. Â鶹Çø is an amazing institution because
of you.
Today, like times in the past, Â鶹Çø faces challenges. But there is also a great deal
of opportunity ahead! Â鶹Çø has an outstanding core of leadership, strong and growing
enrollment, state support for our run to R1, and a wide range of expertise that will
serve the state, nation, and world well into the future.Ìý
Thank you for the vibrance you bring to our community and for entrusting Â鶹Çø with
your education. It is worthy of your support.Ìý
